This year we’re going to try some Sunday teatime gigs at our favourite pub, The Snickleway Inn on Goodramgate in York.

The York Food Festival in on all week and there’s music every evening in the marquee on Parliament Street, as well as in St Sampson’s Square.

Leather’o will be playing in the main marquee on Parliament Street on Wednesday 24 September from 7.30pm to 9pm. It’s always a great atmosphere, with great food and drink.

The festival is raising money for St Leonards Hospice.

We have a very special private function gig to look forward to in August, then we’re delighted to be returning to The Bluebird in Acomb – our last gig there was a sell-out and we’ve got lots of new tunes to play this time. Then in November we’re heading north for a folk club gig in Saltburn. What could be better?!?

We’ve been quiet for a while, but working away in the background on half a dozen new sets of tunes – some Scottish, some Irish, one Northumbrian. One or two traditional but mostly recent compositions by the new Celtic players. Come along to one of our gigs to hear them!

We don’t play many Ceilidhs (what we English would call barn dances) but when we have to, we can play the tunes a bit slower and less complicated. And what a Ceilidh it was! Congratulations to Gracie for a great job as caller and thanks everyone for dancing like wild things!!
