We’ll be gigging a few new tunes for the first time at the Snickleway Inn in York this Thursday. How many depends on how the rehearsal goes tonight!

Summer’s here – we were very busy in May and early June, and we’re having a video of one of our tunes edited in the next week or two.
With a couple of the band members travelling over the summer, we will only be doing a few gigs in June.
July picks up with a wedding in Middlesex and a new venue in York, then August will be our busiest gig schedule ever, with gigs in York, Hampshire and the Lake District. We’re expecting to come back from the Lakes with some new tunes – we’ll be playing-in a couple at open mic’s here and there.
Have a look at our Forthcoming Gigs page and our Facebook page for details!
We had a great audience for our set at The City of York Folk Weekend at the legendary Black Swan. It was very kind of so many audience members to come up to us afterwards – the thing we heard them say most often was how much energy the band brought to the stage, which is exactly why we love to play!
Thanks as always to Roland for organising this great festival.
Many thanks to Christine Cockett for some great photos – here are a few of them:
We’ve been playing our first few festivals of the 2016 season. Here we are, in the rain, with Callum on percussion. We had a great crowd for our return to Cleethorpes Folk and Cider Festival and we’re rehearsing some new tunes for the folk highlight of the summer in York – the Black Swan festival. We’ll be playing at 8pm on Saturday 4 June. There will be three days of great music, great beer, and it’s all free (well, not the beer, obviously…) – see you there!
We’re delighted to have our Lake District gigs confirmed:
– Friday 19 August, from 9.30pm The Vagabond pub, Whitehaven
– Saturday 20 August (evening) The Hawkshead Brewery, Staveley (near Windermere)
– Sunday 21 August (3pm – afternoon session) The Woolpack, Hardknott Pass (get there via Eskdale)
– Newfield Inn, Seathwaite – evening session – date to be confirmed
The whole band will be staying in the Western Lakes and popping up in pubs and bars around the most beautiful part of England.
It was a noisy night at The Bier Keller in York:
In September we will be playing at the highest pub in England – The Tan Hill Inn in Swaledale. A great venue for live music, surrounded by proper walking country.
We’ve been rehearsing some fresh new Irish tunes for St Patrick’s Day on 17 March. This year we’re playing at the Aldwark Arms, just outside York. It’ll be a great night!
Here’s a low-light photo from our recording session in February and you can hear a couple of live tunes on our Listen page. Recording Engineer Isaac McInnes says it was the first time a band had brought their dog with them to a session (we only brought one, well-behaved dog – the new puppy and The Wolf had to stay at home).
We’ve put two “live” tunes, fluffs-and-all, on Soundcloud while we get to work on a few more carefully crafted recordings.
We’re also working on a couple of new tunes. We should be playing one of them this Thursday (11 February) at The Snickleway Inn on Goodramgate in York (see our Forthcoming Gigs page). With Valentine’s day approaching, we’ll probably punctuate the tunes with a few highly unsuitable songs about love, infidelity, class rivalry, murder, etc..
